7lbs in 7 Days: The Juice Master Diet – Review

So you want to lose weight quickly and you’ve come across the 7lbs in 7 Days: The Juice Master Diet book. It claims to get you losing 7lbs in just 1 week. Seems too good to be true right?

Well I am happy to tell you, you would be wrong. This 7lbs in 7 Days: The Juice Master Diet absolutely does allow you to lose around 7lbs in 7 days (up to 10lbs for myself) however once the diet has finished, don’t expect the 7lbs to stay off without any effort from yourself to keep it off.

The book contents

The book basically gets you in the right frame of mind before you do the actual 7lbs in 7 Days: The Juice Master Diet. Once Jason Vale has you in the right frame of mind, he then introduces the recipes and the schedule of juicing. I would advise you read the book and don’t just skip to the recipes. A couple of friends did this and they didn’t make it to the end of the week.

The actual diet

The “Diet” is made up of 5 juices a day for 7 days. This is all you have and as much water as you want. This means no food to chew on for this period.

You’re probably thinking “No food, how am I going to survive?” 5 juices a day may seem like you’ll be hungry all the time. However I was pleasantly surprised when I didn’t feel hungry at all. If anything, I felt fuller than I usually did (when I ate solid food).

The juices were so yummy and you’ll soon find you have favourites from the menu. I found the ones with more vegetables kept me fuller for longer.

Preparing the juices

It is better to drink the juices freshly after you make them, but if you work 9 till 5 like me, this simply isn’t possible. I decided every morning I would spend about 30 mins preparing all the juices and putting them in glass bottles with a tight seal. I found this keeps them fresher in comparison to plastic bottles. After completing the juices, I would have my morning juice before I leave for work. I would then place 3 of the juices in a cooler bag to transport to work and the last juice of the day to be kept in the fridge for “dinner”. Keeping the juices in the fridge is a must!

The plus side of preparing all the juices in one go, means you only have to clean your juicer once a day. The other great thing is no cooking in the evening when you get back from work (unless you have to cook for others).

Conclusion

I feel the 7lbs in 7 Days: The Juice Master Diet is more of a detox rather than a weight loss solution or a diet.

I think its perfect if you want to lose the extra pounds you’ve put on at Christmas or a holiday fast. Or if you want to have a boost of energy then this will make you feel revived and feeling fresh again.

Expect to put on a couple of pounds once you start eating solid food again but eating healthy, paired with a good exercise regime, will help you maintain the weight you’ve lost.

However if you eat how you were eating before, your weight will go straight back on. So don’t expect this is the solution to fix your weight loss problem.

This is always my go to detox when I’ve over indulged 🙂
